Sonia also obtained Continuing Education Units in Emotional Eating Disorders from State University of New York. Sonia is a member of the AADP, the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

Sonia’s education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and knowledge of different dietary theories, Sonia will work with you to help you make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

“Change your food, change your thinking, change your life,” Sonia says. She bases all her programs on the concept of Bio-individuality™, which is the idea that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, Sonia will support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. She uses a personalized, holistic approach to ensure that you will never have to diet again!

samantha-lawrenceFounder & Lead Teacher – Samantha (Sam) Lawrence, E-RYT-500, found yoga in 1999, when she decided to try a class to see if could help with her Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. Her practice began with Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra, which brought such incredible healing, that she knew this had to be shared with anyone who would listen.

Sam has been practicing and teaching now for over 13 years. She has an extensive background in structural anatomy and is a certified Massage Therapist, as well as a certified Hatha, Kundalini, and Kids Yoga Teacher. She has a passion for sharing yoga and bodywork with students and combines a caring, loving, and joyful practice with emphasis upon the mind/body connection and the science behind yoga.

Her love of therapeutic yoga inspired her to open TheraYoga. “There is this current misconception that you have to be ‘bendy’ to practice yoga. I would like to show students that we can ALL practice. We just need to get back to the foundation, the idea of a one-on-one practice. This is what TheraYoga aims to do, even in a class setting. If you can breathe, you can do yoga!” Sam’s TheraYoga classes combine classic Hatha and Kundalini Yoga with therapeutic techniques for a balanced, well rounded experience. She has trained under Kelly Wood at Karuna Yoga, Gurmukh Khalsa, Russ Pfeiffer, Elyse Briggs, Carl Dawson, and Leeann Carey Yoga.

Sam’s classes will inspire you to believe in your power to heal yourself through love, laughter, compassion, and courage.
