Linda Taix, owner and founder of Extreme Boot Camp®and Taix Workout Studio, has been a lifelong fitness enthusiast. She has been certified for more than 20 years with the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America and with the American College of Sports Medicine. She majored in Exercise Science at the University of Southern California and is committed to providing personalized one-on-one fitness training. A certified scuba diver and a skydiver, Linda has also competed in several duathlon and triathlon events. She has been featured on television for health and fitness programs including Body by Jake and Crunch, and has participated in several bodybuilding competitions. Linda has served as the national spokes-model for Tuff Stuff Gym Equipment, Fat Burner Machine, and most recently, The Jet Flex. She has been featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and Shape magazine, among other media.
James was motivated to become a physical therapist after life changing car accident which required 18 months of serious physical therapy. His personal trainer was exceptionally motivating and made it possible for James to return to athletics. After nine years of studies, James became a sports medicine practitioner specializing in injury prevention. James has practiced in various realms of rehabilitation including; pediatric occupational therapy (primarily autism), pediatric physical therapy (primarily sports injuries), post op physical therapy, and athletic training. Through out his studies, James worked at Taix Workout Studio and Extreme Boot Camp® as a personal fitness trainer. After working in various hospitals, clinics and sports teams, James found his work at Taix Workout Studio and Extreme Boot Camp® most rewarding and loves the exciting work environment. He is a Certified Personal Trainer with the Aerobics Fitness Association of America. A former member of the Air Force Auxiliary, training in search and rescue, James has also trained for urban search and rescue confined-space rescue, and wild land rescue. He is currently a high school and college Track and Field Coach with a specialty in pole vault. He has competed in triathlons, marathons, steeplechase, and pole vault.
Gary Kasper is an American Council on Exercise Certified Trainer and has been a professional actor and stuntman for over twenty years. He appeared as Jake Fury on the television show Battle Dome, where he used his expertise in wrestling and Judo to compete against athletes from all over the country. Gary also has an extensive background in football as an all-city high school player and a Junior All-American Coach. He also played on the Los Angeles Times football team and competed in Extreme Sports. He enjoys his continued education of the fitness world because there is so much new and exciting information to learn and pass on to the clients.
Jonathan DeTuno is an Advanced Certified Fitness Trainer and Nutrition Consultant with the National Personal Training Institute(NPTI). He has a strong athletic background, particularly in basketball. At Torrey Pines High School Jonathan received all league honors while also winning a CIF city basketball championship. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to Dominican University of California. After college, Jonathan coached high school basketball at both junior and varsity levels. For the past four years, Jonathan has been working for elite health clubs as an advanced personal trainer, while earning certifications in kickboxing, kettle bell, Vipr, and completed all three levels of Equinox extended education program(EFTI). Jonathan’s ultimate passion is helping others achieve their fitness goals.
Christina Pirard Keshavarz is a Certified Personal Trainer with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Christina competed at the collegiate level in multiple disciplines of dance including Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Polynesian. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Cal Poly Pomona. After working in the corporate world for many years, she realized her true passion was to help people reach their health and fitness goals. To expand her knowledge of injury rehabilitation, Christina worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Verdugo Hills Hospital. Running has become a big part of Christina’s life and she has been competing in many 5k’s, 10k’s, and Half Marathons.
Godwin completed his Masters Degree in Applied Health Sciences with concentration in Health and Fitness at the US- Northwest Missouri State and graduated with honors. He is also a qualified Physical Therapist, who has trained elite athletes to major international sporting events including in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, among others. He is also a certified Health and Fitness Specialist of the American College of Sports Medicine and a Corrective Exercise Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Godwin is passionate about fitness. He keeps fit by playing Soccer and Volleyball, as well as working out. He currently plays as a forward for Galacticos FC in the Adult Pasadena League. He was a member of the coaching staff of Maryville High School Soccer team- The Spoof Hounds. Godwin is the Contact Person for the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy (IFSPT), Netherlands, and recently attended a joint conference of the IFSPT and the Sports Physical Therapy Session (SPTS) in Las Vegas. Godwin completed Para-Military training during his National Youth Service Corps assignment.
Marcos has always made physical fitness and healthy living a priority in his life. He moved from his native country of Brazil to Los Angeles several years ago. In Brazil, Marcos led an active lifestyle working as a personal trainer, dancer and model. As you can imagine it hasn’t been difficult to maintain that lifestyle here in Southern California. Marcos stays in shape and keeps in touch with the Brazilian community by playing in indoor and outdoor soccer leagues. He is excited to be part of the Extreme Team and is dedicated to helping others reach their fitness goals.
David Gonzalez is a National Council on Strength and Fitness Training. He has a strong emphasis in endurance running technique with a detailed breathing rhythm. He took his personal trainer course with Caldwell University and continues to further his education in Kinesiology. He has served over 10 years, and continues to serve, in the U.S. Army and reserves as a Staff Sergeant. Recognized frequently for his leadership in fitness and was awarded the Army Physical Fitness Excellence badge. David has competed in four half marathons with A-B group pacing, a full marathon, and five 8+ mile obstacle races.
